SUMMARY:The Mother Road at 100 Years Old: Voices of Route 66
DESCRIPTION:Please join podcaster and educator Anthony Arno for an exhilarating presentation on Route 66. \nEducator Arno writes: \nAs a lifelong NJ educator\, 25 years ago my 5th grade students made national news for an innovative classroom project.  They bicycled the equivalent distance of Route 66 (2\,400 miles) aboard an exercise bicycle in the back of the classroom\, while learning about America’s Main Street in real-time.  Since that time\, I’ve launched The Route 66 Podcast. \nThe Route 66 Podcast explores the history\, hidden gems\, and unforgettable characters that define America’s Main Street.  Guests include popular authors\, historic business owners\, and people living and working on The Mother Road.   \nI was preparing for an upcoming interview about Cyrus Avery\, who has been credited with planning and numbering the most iconic highway in the world- Route 66.  In just a mere paragraph of the book I was reading\, there was a mention that the Avery’s settled in Bradford County (Stevensville) in the late 1800’s.  At the age of 13\, Cyrus moved with his father in a covered wagon to Oklahoma before the rest of the family moved west some two years later.  \nThe presentation features: \n\n\nAudio Clips: Engaging sound bites from the most popular and insightful interviews featured on the podcast. \n\n\nVideo Segments: Curated video clips and archival footage highlighting the locations and stories discussed. \n\n\nAuthentic artifacts featuring specific Route 66 topics. \n\n\nDeep Dive Analysis: Behind-the-scenes stories and deep-dive commentary from my own experiences personally traveling and researching the route\, offering context not available in the episodes themselves. \n\n\nMy goal is to provide a comprehensive\, entertaining\, and educational session that celebrates the spirit of Route 66.
