Recycle Your Tired T’s into a Small Rug

Wednesday May 24, 6 PM, Meeting Room at Bradford County Library

You can expect, under the guidance of our enthusiastic Laugh and Craft Staff, to braid and weave together a small rug.

You need to bring: The 1-1/2” strips of 4-6 T-Shirts. Colors/patterns should be distinct yet visually pleasing. See images below. Avoid the hem stitching. Another source of interesting patterns can be children’s leggings. (Let us know ahead if you can’t arrive with the strips cut.)

We will provide: Tissues for tears 🤣

Street Books, a nonprofit bookmobile in Portland, Oregon, uses bicycle-powered carts to lend books to homeless people.

4. Thailand has elephant-drawn libraries
Elephants are used to transport books to various remote places in Thailand.

5. A haven for homeless children
The Library Train for Homeless Children project in Bangkok has converted a train to a library, classroom, computer car, and music car for homeless children.

3. It inspires positive change
Supporting bookmobile services is supporting access to learning. It is a grassroots attempt to create long-lasting transformations in society.

The Inter-Library Loan System (ILL) is an integral

The Inter-Library Loan System (ILL) is an integral part of Bradford County Library!

In 2022, BCL sent/received approximately 2,000 Inter-Library Loan Items. We can request items from around Pennsylvania, including within Bradford County! Our Van Driver Bob keeps the books moving between all 9 libraries in Bradford County!
