About the Library

The Bradford County Library is the headquarters for a nine member Bradford County Library System. It is part of the North Central Library District and is a member of Access Pennsylvania. The library is located on Route 6 in West Burlington Township at mile marker 261. We have been serving patrons in Bradford County since 1941.

Our Mission

Approved by Board of Directors, January 14, 2010

It is the mission of the Bradford County Library to select, acquire, organize, and preserve books and other materials of contemporary interest and permanent value for the education, enjoyment, and intellectual stimulation of the entire community. Programs will be developed to stimulate citizen’s interests and appreciation for reading and learning.

The Bradford County Library is also to provide additional service to member libraries of the Bradford County Library System in the form of special collections and supplemental library materials.

The Bradford County Library endorses the Library Bill of Rights and the Freedom to Read Statement, both adopted by the American Library Association (ALA) Council.

Our Collection

The Bradford County Library collection includes adult and children’s books,  DVDs, audio books on CD, reference materials, Local History materials, magazines, daily and weekly newspapers, microfilm and much more.

Through our website, Bradford County Library patrons have access to 5 online databases: the POWER Library, Learning Express Library, Ask Here PA, Overdrive, and Heritage Quest.

Other Services

Our other services include inter-library loan; Library for the Blind services; access to nine public computers with internet access; and outreach to schools, day care centers, and head start locations.

The Bradford County Bookmobile serves 24,447 patrons throughout Bradford County. It has 46 community stops, 12 preschool stops, and circulates more than 16,000 items every year.

Conference Room

Our conference room is available for non-profit agencies to use free of charge. Business and for profit groups may use the conference room a fee. Half day rental is $45 and a full day rental is $65.

Literacy Program

The Bradford-Wyoming County Literacy Program is based in the Bradford County Library. The Literacy Program trains volunteer tutors and provides free and confidential “one on one” tutoring for adults and teenagers who lack basic reading skills or who want to learn English as a Second Language.
